In the name of self development, I have been reading many newsletters, e-Books and articles on the topic for a number of years now.
The one thing that stands out about all of the products, systems and ideas is that all of them, from the consumer's point of view, assume that the user of these things is in a place in their life which allows them to make use of the content.
I dot not want to highlight any particular product of vendor, so I am not going to mention any names. If the next section sounds like I am pushing or criticising a particular product or author, that is entirely coincidental.
Do You Want Financial Freedom?

Use Hypnosis to Help Overcome Your Problem Today
Live a Fearless Life
Stop Setting Goals Only To Give Up
Don't these sound great?
Don't you start thinking that if you just signed up to any one of these you could work through the content and live the life you want?
So from this point of view, we would all be highly functioning, happy individuals living our dreams, right?
Well, yes you would think so.
But, as I said above, the rosy outcomes promised by these products assume that the consumer can make full use of the product. Just as a building will fall if the foundation is not strong, a self-help product placed on top of a weak foundation of self‑esteem will not deliver on the promises made.
I am not saying that all self-help products are of little use, particularly in the case of products that promote building your foundation.
My premise is that unless your foundation can support a program of achieving all your goals or achieving millionaire status, you will tend to sabotage your efforts to make best use of that product.
One of the mainstays of your foundation is the way you talk to yourself.
If your self talk will not support you saving 5% of your income, how is it going to support you reaching millionaire status?
If your self talk will not support you reaching the goal of tidying up your desk, how is it going to support you achieving all your goals?
So get on your own bandwagon, support your own product and get the closest person to you working with you.
Get that inner voice to back you up and push you forward.
